  1. Re: Darren Oliver – there is 100% certainty in my mind that the Jays will pick up that option. The real question, as I see it, is will Darren Oliver retire.

    Assuming he doesn’t retire, the Jays project to have an excellent bullpen next year just based on who is presently on board. From the right side you have Janssen, Lincoln, Delabar plus whatever you get out of Santos, and Oliver and Loup from the right side. Toss in a long-man (Brett Cecil, perhaps) and one of the group of Crawford/Carreno/Frasor/Lyon coming back and you’ve got the makings of an excellent BP.

  4. 3 million seems like a lot for a player over 40, but based on performance, there is still little reason to doubt he can earn that much value. How easy is it to be a left handed pitcher in the major leagues, amirite?
