  1. He *did* fulfill some of his prospect promise; he was a solid starter for the Rays for a long time…

  2. Hey Carson. Thanks for all your work!

It’s been a few years since you started using SCOUT, I think, and I was wondering if you would yet be able to tell if it is correlated with anything in particular during the regular season. Your method for putting the stat together seemed very reasonable and I’m just wondering if we can say that it translates to something else. Sure be cool if it did! Maybe it’s still too early to tell….

Anyway, thanks for the look at the winter leagues: I always wish there was more English language coverage of them. And here’s hoping that Kazmir stops getting bombed like his namesake in Pakistan….

  3. How has no one convinced Kazmir that he can make it back to the Majors as a reliever?

  4. Kazmir as a LOOGY would be interesting experiment.

  5. Well the first, last and only time Kazmir pitches 200 innings, he led the AL in Ks and put up 5.3 WAR. So in other words, Erik Bedard but less Canadian. He probably had the best slider in the league for a few years, it’s probably not nearly at that level after all the arm problems he had.
