  2. you should’ve asked him about Burnett’s black eye. There have always been some rumours about a brawl between those two.

  3. Strange how some organizations can promote the cutter with their pitchers and those pitchers don’t lose velocity on their fastball or feel for their offspeed pitches. It’s almost as if, say, the Rays understand baseball better than, say, the Royals.

  4. The Yankees have routinely had the best coaching staff in baseball top to bottom. That doesn’t mean the EVERY coach is the best, but (again generally speaking) each coach on the Yankees staff is among the elite in the game. It is simply a first class operation. When you can get a key coach like Eiland, I think it adds to the prestige of the team and helps set a tone that transfers over into the way the players approaches their job. I think not only the pitchers, but the whole team will benefit by Eiland coming to K.C.
