1. Bummer for Korea.

  2. A bit pedantic of me, perhaps, but nevertheless: “A series of tie-breaking rules exists.”

  3. You are correct, sir.

Allow me to counter, however, with this: “A series of tie-breaking rules exists.”

  5. Did Meulens employ the four-shortstop defensive aligment?

  6. Bummer for Korea indeed. They were finalists last time in LA (Korea-Japan was just about the ultimate “two teams that don’t like each other”). That opening loss was a killer.

  7. How do you get “league average” rates for the WBC to regress against for SCOUT?

  8. “(Click here for more on what is SCOUT.)”

To the unknowing person, it seems counterintuitive that the link leads you to a page with no reference at all to SCOUT.

  9. When there is no table of contents in the Table of Contents, should it be renamed Sentence of No Content or just omitted.

  10. I think ESPN is a bit lazy here. The three team tiebreaker was simply

(Earned Runs scored/innings batter) – (Earned Runs against/innings pitched)

Korea needed to beat Chinese Taipei by 4.

  11. Profar opted out of the tournament unfortunately, so we will never know :(

  12. In thought they needed to beat them by 5 because Korea had lost by 5 runs, while Chinese Taipei had won by 5 runs.

  13. Is there way of seeing the SCOUT scores of the other playes? I am very curious to the SCOUT scores of the Pitchers in the Dutch leagues.
