  1. Bronson could throw his breaking ball at 40mph and I’d still swing.

  2. nice interview, Arroyo clearly has a firm grasp of his craft and a realistic understanding of his fit, warts and all. while in the past i wish the Reds would have jettisoned him, i have a better appreciation of the type of pitcher he is and the value he provides – not a fan of his contract, but i’ll take a 200-inning/2-win player at the back end of the rotation.

and to add to the previous comment, i don’t think i would have even touched the frisbees he was throwing the Giants in the playoffs last year.

  3. Hannigan only uses a one or a two? That’s incredible. Great article David.

  4. How can you not be a fan of his contract? This is (nominally) the last year of it, and a huge chunk of it is deferred.

Bronson has provided excellent value, and I’d bet he will continue to do so.

  5. Great in depth story on Bronson! Keep it up.

  6. My initial thought when I read the opening paragraph was, “I bet Arroyo and Hannigan stay up late at night and talk pitching in the candlelight.” Given that they can get away with two signs, I may be on to something.

    Seriously, excellent interview!

  7. This might just be the best article in a fantastic series. Was hoping for a leg kick question, though.
