  1. I think the differences might just be perception, due to the camera angle being higher and more straigh in line with the rubber and plate picture, whereas the camera is positioned lower and to the right of the mound in the first two.

  2. The major difference has little to do with his sinker but his changeup and slider. Used both of them, especially the changeup, a lot more than previously in his first start and threw the slider 3 MPH slower than he had in the past. Hernandez didn’t strike anybody out because he didn’t trust his secondary pitches, but now that may finally be happening. We’ll have to see if his success with his changeup and slider persist.

  3. yeah, to me it actually looks like he’s moved towards first base, if at all. the 2011/2012 pictures, the rubber is a real skinny line just because of the low angle but i’m pretty sure it keeps going under most of his foot, if not all of it. 2013 shot his heel’s coming off past the end of the rubber towards first. it might be the same in the other two shots, but you can’t really tell for sure.

i know we all want him to move on the rubber because of the whole rodney thing but i’m not really seeing that here

  4. His name will always be Fausto Carmona to me. And there will always be a Leo Nunez.

  5. I have Fernando Rodney on my fantasy team, and I’m looking to trade him. I’ve watched him pitch a couple of times and since you guys are really good this…I think a piece should be done on why the fuck he stopped pitching from the 1B side of the rubber. What’s the deal with that?

  8. hard to tell given the different camera angles on his vertical but his leg kick definitely looks lower. All about timing…

  9. Also looks like his hat is tilted to the left more now than previous. Rodney influence?

  10. Small sample size, but I think the hat tilt will prove to be the key. Good pickup Ted.
