  2. Carson,

Just became familiar with Fangraphs and love it. May I provide some additional insight regarding Aaron Rhodes with whom I am more than familiar with.

Aaron should be a true 3/4 armer, he does have a tendency of letting his arm “float” a bit up and down. His best overall fastball comes at the 3/4 arm slot. In the SEC games he was consistently in the 89-92 range. In the Northwoods League Aaron has been consistently in the 90-94 range. Yes 94. And in two games (Youtube has many replays)The first @ Rochester he hit 96, also hit 96 @ Duluth. These are rare accomplishments so we don’t get too excited but we are pleased that he sits regularly in the 90-94 range. His change-up is a work in progress as it typically ranges between 83-86. I would suggest viewing Youtube replays Waterloo Bucks @ Mankato Moondogs 7/2/2013. Facing Fuentes #2 hitter announcer identifies pitch at 94. His slider is a plus pitch. He has a tendency of piling up the fastballs and not mixing in the slider and change.

Waterloo has an aray of good players – fun to watch. The League itself has been very competitive and repleat with good division one players.

Look forward to more great stuff at Fangraphs!

  5. This is a meeting of the CKS. You’re looking for the KCS, which is down the hall and to your left.

  7. Hey guys,

Running a little late today. Hate to admit to this, but I will be deliberately benching the services of one, Mr. Corey Kluber, tonight. I have a small lead in ERA and WHIP (head-to-head) and cannot take the risk of a subpar performance though I have full faith that Mr. Kluber will live up to his billing. Regardless, I feel dirty. I’ll show myself out.

  9. Kluber is a ringer for Clint Eastwood out there…. that is, he never changes his expression. Can’t faze him.

  15. I should have known better. When it comes to Mr. Kluber, all decisions should be left to the heart, not the brain, for he shall never fail the heart.

  16. Left with hip soreness. Apparently even his hips couldn’t handle his stuff.

    Dear Corey,

May your joints and tendons heal promptly and without undue inflammation.

  17. This news just discovered… apparently one of the female members of this society “exposed” herself to Cory in between the 5th and 6th innings. Cory quickly “developed” a “stiff hip”.

  19. Is there going to be a Fangraphs article soon about Luis Cruz’s historically bad offensive year? His current wRC+ of 1 would be the worst single season mark since the start of the live-ball era (min. 300 PA, Cruz curently has 175).
