  1. WIll Semien play SS or 2B on the south side?

  2. Yes.

I think it depends on whether or not Ramirez continues to decline, whether Beckham is moved and how the other prospects develop. In limited viewing, it looks to me like he can handle either so I think they plug him in at one depending on how everyone else shakes out.

  3. Are you saying that the specific reason for Hawkins’ meltdown was that he was being pushed too aggressively? The situation looks like a wreck right now and really does not reflect well on the Sox and their ability to move young players through the system.

  4. Does anyone else think the Sox farm system is much improved this year. Especially after it’s poor ratings the last few years.

It seems like our middle infield and pitching depth has really improved, and while our young toolsy outfielders mostly took steps back (or stayed the same) I feel like there is at least reason for optimism for Sox fans after a long and disappointing season.

  5. I think it reflects much worse on Hawkins himself. Yes, the Sox look bad for picking a dud (or what currently looks like one), but the greats don’t take long in burning through the minor leagues. He’s obviously not close to ready for primetime, they know that now and will monitor his development accordingly.
