Using my brain, 1 year for $5.5 million.

  3. I’ll say 2 year / $12 million.
    I’d probably give him 1 year/ 6 million.

  7. I don’t see him doing better than year to year at this point. I’d guess that he’ll end up with a similar contract to last year. I’d be willing to go one year at $5-$6 million. He’s worth having because he is a decent enough starting catcher, but I also feel like he could be the type of guy that would fall off a cliff, so I wouldn’t want to tie up too much money in him.

  8. Not much supply (McCann, Salty, AJP and ? Shinnosuke Abe maybe?) and a lot of demand (Boston, Yankees, Jays, Texas among the high budget teams at least) for catchers who can hit this year, and so I expect some major overpayment. I say 2 years for a whopping total of $20M.

  10. He oughta be a Yankee with that late career pull power. Would fit in quickly with a veteran staff. I might go 2/15 if I were Cashman. Another year of Stewart and Cervelli; no thanks.
