  1. Nice tribute, Eric. I watched Maddux pitch as a 10 year old in 1987 at a AAA Iowa Cubs baseball game in Des Moines. There was a sense that he was some sort of a phenom as a 21 year old, and all I remember was a standing ovation after they took him out. What fun it’s been to watch him all these years!

    Doubtful that there will be anyone close to his talent for dominating the strike zone for some time.

  2. Nice article, but he will be wearing a uniform again: when he goes into the Hall of Fame, as I cannot see him doing it any other way.

  3. Is there any reason for a HOF voter to not want Maddux in the Hall? I don’t think so. A class act and one of the top pitchers the game has ever seen.
