  1. Well, Boras is a nut – but to his credit, he’s very good at what he does.

    Which teams those other fellows may be good for probably depends on their willingness to camp out in long relief or AAA waiting to see if someone gets injured. You can never have too much pitching depth.

  2. What’s the asking price for Jon Garland? Marcels pegs him at 179 innings of 4.43 FIP. Of course, he was paid $12 million in 2008 as the last year of a 3 year, $29 million deal.

  3. The averaged projections peg Garland as 185 IP of 4.52 FIP pitching. With a 3-run bonus for amassing 185 innings, that makes him exactly +2 wins. His FMV is $10 mil, which would be lower than his 2007 and 2008 salaries of 11 mil and 12 mil respectively. He probably isn’t someone great to invest in unless he can be had for a fee lower than his market value.

  4. The team that ends up giving Ollie Perez like 4 years, $44 million is in for some big disappointment. I’m pretty sure Omar Minaya is smart enough not to do this.
