  3. When, not if.

  4. You’ve transposed runs and hits for Carlos Santana’s blurb. He has 14 hit so far this season. Nine hits in 44 AB would put his average a heck of a lot lower than .364…

  5. You said that Wallace has played 46 games this year – not sure if you meant 46 ABs?

  6. As far as I can tell, Neftali Feliz has not blown a save yet this year. He is 2 for 2.

  7. When are the 2010 minor league stats going to show up on the individual player pages?

  9. Scioscia’s mancrush or not, Jeff Mathis is on the DL for the next six to eight weeks with a broken wrist — as reported right here at RotoGraphs. Unless they use this as an opportunity to call up Conger, Bobby Wilson will be drying his eyes and getting ready to catch once a week or so behind Napoli.

  10. Quite the wave of young catchers waiting to make an impact (not all will, of course, but still).

  12. I’m a little surprised to see that Ben Revere wasn’t the Twins #1 prospect. Or Valencia.

    Comment by Phillips Ford Brewer — April 22, 2010 @ 5:31 pm

  13. Were the original lists made before the draft? If not, there’s no way that Michael Saunders is a better prospect than Dustin Ackley for the M’s. I’m not sure if I should be angry at this article for the error, or something else… but this is the internet, and I need to be angry at someone.

  14. Of his 16 hits, four are doubles and four are homers. He also has 14 RBI and has scored nine runs.

  16. jacob turner before casey crosby too. maybe we aren’t counting draft picks.

  17. +1, because it only lets me click the thumb once.

  18. They explicitly ruled out 2009 draftees from the calculus, so Ackley wasn’t eligible.

    Comment by Paul Thomas — April 23, 2010 @ 1:28 am

  19. That’s more of a toss up. I prefer Turner, but Casey Crosby is an elite pitching prospect too and I could definitely see an argument for Crosby over Turner.

  20. And after Texeira dropped his shoulder and aimed for the head like he thought his name was Matt Cooke, Bobby Wilson is out of the picture too. Yet are they calling up their top prospect from AAA? Of course not, they’re going with Ryan Budde, he of the .132 lifetime major-league wOBA. His defense must be out of this world!

  21. A lot of managers are ex-catchers, so clearly GMs think there’s something added by that experience; and a lot of successful managers are ex-catchers, though it’s hard to separate that out when ex-catchers are more likely (apparently) to get the opportunity. However, it often seems like ex-catchers view and handle the catchers on their rosters (in particular) in ways that inexplicable to outsiders.
