  1. He might have been second overall last year if not for the injury. Dude is good, but what got me was a report from spring training when Kubel went over to the minors side to get in a couple ABs. He took two against Gibson and said he’d had enough, went back and told Gardy that Gibson just wore his ass out in-out, up-down, shaping the fastball and change like it was mid-season. Jason Kubel is not a stud, but he is a legit MLB hitter. I don’t think it’s crazy that Gibson could be their ace by 2012.

  2. Nice article, Bryan. I noticed in an article about his 1-hitter that Gibson said he didn’t need to use his offspeed stuff. That indicated to me that the FSL was not enough of a challenge. The promotion should be good for his development.
