  2. Do the M’s also have the option of sending down/waiving one of their relief-only arms (eg. Jesus Colome/Sean White) to get one of the AAA guys up (Olson/French).

    Or is the risk of losing one to waivers too great.

    Still a fine article. The M’s other option would be to waive Jesus Colome whom they picked up in the offseason in their bizarre plan to recreate the 2008 Nationals bullpen (right down to Josh Bard!). The team seems to like Colome though, hence the solution of yo-yoing Snell.
    The other option would be to, er, option Shawn Kelley – something they did when Lee came off the DL. Of course, Kelley’s actually a talented reliever, so that would be odd (but they’ve already done it once). The degree to which the team or the manager believes in in White/Colome is tough to explain, but as RJ points out, they don’t have to make a hard decision here.
