  1. So I shouldn’t give up on Danny Valencia just yet (even if he’s a tad old….and hasn’t hit one HR this year)?

  2. Good news for Mike Moustakas.

Your judgment passed on Chisenhall seems a bit premature, considering what he’s done in the past week or so.

Either way, though, this study has quite a small sample size. Seems like it would make more sense to do this study with hitters from all positions.

  3. The Chisenhall comment wasn’t really serious, and he’s been looking very good. And, I might do this study for everyone, but it was just something I stumbled upon during this part of the draft history series. Reporting things as I come across them, and hopefully they continue to provide good ideas for future stuff.

  4. I think you forgot Ryan Zimmerman.

  5. My fault… I see you were only going through 2002.

    Sorry.

  6. I’m thoroughly amused that Manny Ramirez was drafted as a third baseman.

  7. Me too. And Pat the Bat. I knew he could play a little first in a pinch but third?

  8. Yeah, the first thing that jumped out at me about this list was “Manny Ramirez was a third baseman?” I assume he was a third baseman the same way Ryan Braun was a third baseman. Braun might be the new Manny actually. Totally awful at third, moves to left where he still sucks, but absolutely rakes. How long before someone says “that’s just Ryan being Ryan”?
