  1. I think profiling any pitching prospects below age 23 as either a “future reliever” or “future ace” is deliberately taunting the phrase TINSTAAPP.

  2. Which is a silly phrase I deliberately taunt as often as I can.

its not like MLB needs morneau, or votto in the all star game this year,
actually lets take away bedards achievements, heck who needs bay? remember the world baseball classic? that same american attitude lost to the canadians LOL

  5. Lest someone thinks I was serious in the post, let me put that notion out of the way now. I’m just not as skilled at teasing the Canadians as FanGraphs own Carson Cistulli.

  6. Could you elaborate on why you don’t think Sanchez is an inspired choice?

  8. Pimentel got through his two hitters, but didn’t look like a real prospect at all.

  9. Castro ended up having way too much run on his FB; he’d have had to stand on the 1B side of the mound to throw a strike with it. It started to get bizarre. Noesi didn’t actually look too bad to me. The arm works great, he’s low effort, and he threw (quality) strikes. Probably the most polished of the World arms, while still having some upside. Haven’t gotten to Sanchez’s part of the game on my DVR, but I’ve seen him pitch before and think he has closer upside, not just set-up. Maybe not an inspired choice, but he’s got a future.
