  1. The bad early starts also amounted to extended spring training — Jurrjens had a shoulder issue in March, which meant that he didn’t get as much work as the other pitchers on the staff. He appears to be healthy again, and pitching like the pitcher he was in 2008-2009.

  2. That’s good to hear. Although I’m not a Braves fan, its good to hear any player work through problems(injuries, etc.)

  3. I hate to sound selfish but as a Mets fan this is much better news than hearing that Oliver Perez will soon be back to haunt the team. I know that there is the slight possibility of a flash in the pan but I have much more faith in R.A. Dickey at this point.

    Why? Oliver? Whyyyyyy?

  4. You must REALLY be down on Oliver Perez then. Don’t really blame you there. And it is good to see 2009 Jurrjens show up since his return from the injuries.

  5. What in the hell was Omar thinking with that contract? Were other teams that hot after the guy?

Great news on JJ. Love watching that kid pitch.

  6. I don’t remember a lot of teams being interested in Perez. It could just be that I wasn’t paying enough attention. I fooled myself into thinking that he could have better seasons because he was around 27/28 and the whole upside thing. This was before I learned to judge pitchers better and paid more attention to the actual value of a pitcher.

  7. Jair had the awful start in San Diego when he suffered a dead arm. Health issues were the only problem, now he is back to his old self, the guy who finished 5th in the cy young voting last year with an ERA under 3.
