  1. Lower third? Id say lower 30th. Its hard to find someone reputable who doesnt have them ranked last.

  2. I was trying to be nice by not stating dead last. Houston fans must be getting a little depressed. I’ll be comparing all the farm systems in a couple of weeks…

  3. We are getting a little depressed, Marc–thanks for the effort.

What are your thoughts on Sergio Perez, their 2nd round pick in ’06? He’s had bad luck with injuries ( he sptn a lot of time on the DL with a broken finger last year), but he’s shown potential on the mound.

  4. How many of these players did you actually see? Of those, if any, that you saw, how many games did you see them?

  5. For me, Perez is a reliever due to two solid pitches. His walk rates have improved each of the last three seasons, but in limited innings. He’s a little too hittable because he’s in the strike zone a bit too much at times – he needs to make better use of the zone. If Perez can keep improving the command/control while maintaining the low-to-mid 90s fastball, then he could be a very nice find.

As for players I see- I see a fair number through the season and also hear games over the radio/net and read a ton of scouting reports. I’ve seen video for five of the players listed above. Most of the players in the minors, I’ve been following since their college/high school days so I’ve heard about many of them long before they become “main stream.” I also talk to other people who have seen the people perform, other writers, scouts, players, etc.

  6. Thanks a lot for giving everyone remarkably terrific possiblity to read from this site. It is often so brilliant and also jam-packed with a good time for me and my office co-workers to visit your blog nearly 3 times per week to find out the new stuff you will have. And of course, I’m so always pleased with all the excellent opinions served by you. Selected 1 areas in this post are in truth the simplest I have had.
