  3. I’m obviously not a professional player but I broke my wrist in Jan. 2007 and it was a good 6 months before i could even swing a bat without feeling some sort of discomfort. It was noticeably weaker for about a year (which i hear is the general rule of thumb) and I didn’t start really driving the ball until the summer of 2009.

  4. I’m not sure if it matters, but I think Weeks actually tore tendons in his wrist(s) in 2009, as opposed to broke it. Just wondering if there could be a difference with the healing process time?

  5. Didn’t Carlos Quentin break his wrist in ’08? He might be a good one to look at.

  6. Rickie Weeks’ thumb injuries also need to be accounted for. This is the first year he’s had both a healthy thumb and wrist.
