  1. “However, that still doesn’t explain why it took a full year for a team to take a flyer on him.”

Do we know for a fact that he wasn’t offered a minor league deal and decided (either on his own or at his agents urging) to wait for a better deal that never came? Maybe that opened his eyes so when the opportunity came along this year he jumped at it.

Jermaine Dye had offers last year, just not any to his liking and ended up playing for the same team as Crede.

  2. I hope Crede nakes it all the way back. Terrific defender and a clutch hitter.

  3. He will also be competing with Ty Wiggington for a backup spot, right?

  4. Just letting you know: The injury list is a paragraph below where it seems you intended it to be.

  5. I doubt it. Wigginton got a pretty sizeable contract (almost too sizeable if you ask me), to be the backup CI/Of for the team and be insurance at 1b. As far as I can tell, Wigginton’s roster spot is not in any jeopardy, and rather the Crede signing is to keep him in the minors until the event of a serious injury to Stewart…

  7. With a year off his body has probably healed quite a bit. If he stayed in decent shape, I would bet he is good enough to be mixed league fantasy relevant in the second half. I am going to keep my eye on him for sure.

  8. I would have thought, for a minor league deal, that he would have signed with a team like the Angels or the Jays were the chanes of him becoming a regular 3rd baseman is significantly higher if his health is really were he is saying it is.
