  1. How have injuries wiped out Schafer’s potential? He’s nowhere near a top prospect, but he’s certainly still a player of interest and a potential bench player down the line.

  2. For the Astros, how ’bout saying something like “Bobby Heck’s first draft” or “The first draft run by Ed Wade after years of poor drafting and reduced draft picks due to free agent signings” instead of “Not known for great amateur drafting”. Fangraphs is always so negative about the Houston organization and Ed Wade especially.

  3. “Not known for great amateur drafting, the Astros organization did obtain some solid talent in ’08. ”

It’s the first sentence. In fact, it’s the second half of the sentence you quoted in your complaint. Yeah, fangraphs hates the Astros and never has anything positive to say about them. Maybe if the Astros hadn’t completely screwed up their organization over the last 5 years or so, there would be more positive things written about your organization.

  4. That Chicago draft has been such a tease, wow. Cashner, Flaherty, Carpenter, Jackson and even Kevin Hart have all flashed some solid talent but for one reason or another just can’t seem to put it all together.

  5. Re: Carpenter, is this a typo?

“He has responded well to the move and has walked 17 batters in 19.2 triple-A innings.”

Assuming it is. That wouldn’t fall under my definition of “responding well.”
