  1. Wow Moore is a really good interview, i’m actually surprised how much information he gave out about his pitches and how detailed he answered every question…. Awesome!

  3. This was amazing. Really puts to bed all the controversy over his breaking ball.

  4. Just getting outs is the wrong mindset. I want a pitcher who wins games.

  5. That was a very short comment to be so wrong in so many ways.
To start with, pitchers don’t win games (I don’t give a damn about the “W” stat), teams do.
Also, the pitcher (or any player, for that matter) can help the team win only by concentrating on the job at hand–in the pitcher’s case, getting the batter out.
The last thing I would want my team’s pitcher thinking about is whether or not he’s going to get a “W”.

  7. Maybe should you have a boner for actually women like me!

At least you have boners. Fortunately, this is not the “age of taking action” (hint, it’s a major sponsor of MLB broadcasts) since you enough cGMP to trigger vasodilation in your penis. No need to inhibit cGMP phosphodiesterase for you.

  10. I thought we nerds have accepted FIP already! Usually, successful pitchers do at least two out of three things:

1.) Strike out a lot of batters
    2.) Rarely give out walks
3.) Sparingly give up home runs

If a pitcher has the mindset of trying to striking out every batter like a “fascist” while trying to avoid the middle of the plate to avoid home runs and the pitcher has the talent to accomplish those things, then I’ll be content with the pitcher. Also, I love the warrior mindset that drives pitchers to pitch complete games, instead of just giving the team 6 or 7 strong innings and a chance to win.

  11. I didn’t realize who Harold Reynolds was, maybe I don’t watch ESPN. Presumably, he is like Joe Morgan.

  12. He is (was? Don’t see as much of that guy any more) a clown.
