  1. With the Cardinals’ young but intriguing bullpen….Salas might be 4th on the depth chart for potential closers. Jason Motte has it nailed down for now, but Lance Lynn and Eduardo Sanchez also fit the profile of closer moreso than Salas. Salas might end up sliding into more of a fireman role this year getting out of jams since he has the groundball stuff, but still gets a decent amount of strikeouts. If the lefties are decent, this might end up being one of the best bullpens in the league. A far cry from last year’s low upside, veteran-laden approach.

  2. The Angels’ Jordan Walden also ended up in a closer role and had a very nice season. Will he be able to keep it up with Jeff Mathis now in Toronto?
