I guess the Expos needed a closer that could work on the road. On all three days they lose despite going into the bottom of the 9th ahead. Admittedly, once it was on the previous game of a double header, but it looks like the Braves nearly put something together.
I guess the stats say something different, but in my heart his 2 biggest hits were Opening Day 1985 and October 27th, 1986. I mean Carter makes an out there, the season is over and the Sox win the WS.
I won’t disagree with the stats, but I will agree with Madoff Withurmoni’s additions, and add his final hit. What a way to close a career! Tom Tango posted a link on his blog.
the author’s age is showing here. never in my life have i heard Rodney Scott referred to as “Rod Scott”. That would be like calling Ellis Valentine “El”. other than that, nice article.
