didnt ever see your ratings back then but what are the reviews for the Josh Lewin Tom Grieve rangers team compared to the Dave Barnett Tom Greive team? Fan base was split on josh lewin but i loved him as our play by play guy
GS – Regarding updates for the broadcast teams that’ve changed: yes, that will definitely happen. I’ll release those ballots maybe closer to midseason, though, to give the readership ample time with said broadcast teams.
As for the NotGraphs coverage of broadcasters — or facilitation of discussions on same — that’s an idea. Of course, I have no interest in compelling readers to watch a game MERELY for the broadcasters, but maybe once some of the excitement of the early season is gone, that would be an appropriate time.
Thanks for showing the Reader Broadcaster preference. I’m having a TON of fun watching MLB.tv through my apple TV this season but was lazy and didn’t feel like looking up the final broadcaster ratings to help choose which feed I would watch. Have you thought about including a video clip along the lines of, “Best Broadcaster Moment of the Day (or week)” in your Daily Notes? That could be pretty enjoyable.
This is the first year we’ve conducted balloting for broadcaster ratings, so, unfortunately, we don’t have any feedback on Lewin. I think, however, that Lewin has generally received positive reviews from readers — but that maybe the club cared less for him.
I am not terribly impressed by Lewin’s work with the Mets thus far this season. He seems loud and shrill and young and his voice and speech patter aren’t well calibrated to the tone and pace of baseball at all, which I think is the most important thing in an announcer. Also doesn’t really seem to know or care about his audience — inside jokes, pop culture references, etc. But I never trust out-of-towners.

I was listening to the KC audio feed last night, because I want to watch The Showcase, and concluded that Hudler is not good at what he does.
Are there going to be in-season updates/revotes for the Television Broadcasts that have changed since last year once the Radio ones are done?
Also, when can we expect a TV Crew of The Week to follow on NotGraphs?

Thanks for the notes. That’s helpful.

One of baseball’s all-time surprises involving a guy named Zito didn’t merit one line of mention?

Actually both broadcast teams finished very high in the broadcast rankings.
