  2. I’ll throw a couple Rice guys into the mix.

RHP Matthew Reckling has a 1.66 ERA and 3.10 FIP in 59.7 IP with a 70 K to 23 BB ratio, and that against some tough opponents. Has an excellent curve and throws in the low 90’s.

    Also, OF Jeremy Rathjen is hitting .373/.471/.606 with 10 2B, 1 3B, 7 HR, 5/6 SB, and a 20 BB to 15 K ratio.

Both guys deserve more notice than they are getting. Both are 4th year players, which can get them a bit overlooked (Reckling because his control has improved tremendously since his first couple years and Rathjen because he blew out his knee last year).

  3. Having seen Stroman pitch throughout his Duke career, I’d like to amend that his fastball is 93-95 as a starter and 95-97 as a reliever.

  5. I have never seen the phrase “young man” written so many times in an article. I felt like I was being lectured by my dad.
