  1. Jesus Flores (as some part of a Bourjos trade)?

  2. Won’t make it any easier on the Angels the next 3 days in Texas. I look forward to the epic booing thats heading CJ Wilson’s way.

  3. Jesus Christ (as some part of a Bourjos trade) would be more like it. But I don’t think Hamilton can play catcher, so he is staying in Texas.

  4. Obviously [you would think, but knowing the Angels...] the Nats would have to offer more – a decent reliever and/or Lannan, perhaps. I don’t know the exact details of team control years which would obviously affect the package.

  5. Yup. Seems like a win-win to me. Nats sorely need a CF who can hit, even a little bit, and Flores is more than capable of being a full time backstop for a least a couple of months. Hell, he might even be an upgrade on Ianetta.

  6. They probably need to look outside of the organization for someone. They should try Teaxs. I know giving up Vernon Wells would suck, but trading him for MIke Napoli would definitely be a good fit.

  7. They should trade Wells for Napoli, it’d solve all their problems.

  8. I’d go see what the Giants want for Hector Sanchez.

  9. ok, put yourself in the role of Texas GM. Would you take Wells and give up Napoli? didnt think so.

  10. During the off-season there was an article about how they shouldn’t trade Bourjos for David Wright. Now you think they should trade him for an injury-prone back-up catcher? His stock may have fallen, but not nearly that far. The only way this makes sense is if Flores is a minor part of the deal.

From a cost-controlled perspective, I have a feeling that Flores will be a free agent sooner than you might think since a lot of his DL-time has counted towards his ML service. This was his 3rd year of arbitration.

  14. Angels and Nats should have a little trade discussion.

Peter Bourjos for Jesus Flores/Ryan Mattheus

    Get R Done DiPoto (DiPortaPotty)

  15. That would’ve made sense before Wilson Ramos’ injury. Now Flores is all the Nationals have got at catcher, so the Angels will have to look elsewhere.

  16. I GUESS the Mariners could find it in their hearts to part with Miguel Olivo.

  17. Blasphemy. Where would the Mariners get their veteran goodness and vaunted catcher defense?
