  4. Sam Walker’s Fantasyland opens each chapter with a little vignette, a funny or thought-provoking story about a Rotisserie baseball owner. Here’s one of them (I’m paraphrasing from memory):

    Back in the fall of 2001 a New York commuter read that Magglio Ordonez had injured his wrist and was likely to sit out some games. When he got to work he skipped his usual cigarette break and headed straight in to make a roster adjustment.

    It was September 11th, and he worked in one of the World Trade Center Towers, and if he hadn’t gone right in that morning he’d have been trapped in the elevator a few minutes later along with his usual smoke break buddies. Instead he escaped down the stairs.

    Since then his first draft pick every year was always Magglio Ordonez.
