  1. Of note to me is that you have changed Stephen Strasburg’s moniker from “St. Strasburg” to “Ste. Strasburg.” I think I speak for all us when I say that he (i.e. Strasburg) has done nothing to deserve having his sainthood revoked by the infamously moustachioed author. In point of fact, it would seem that said pitcher should be heaped with even more praise from said author, perhaps in the form of a royal nickname similar to that bestowed another young pitcher by the name of Felix.

  2. His sainthood has not been revoked. The change reflects his new identity as a French woman.

  3. I just want to say that, in all seriousness, I look forward to the Daily Notes, especially the game previews, more than anything else, save a sext or something from my wife. Just so you know how much this work is appreciated.

  4. Have to fact check your post. Scheppers IS actually the younger brother of John Danks and in fact is the lost twin of Jordan Danks. There was a mixup at the hospital (as is so often the case nowadays) and Scheppers was taken home by a different couple. Indeed, John Danks is the actual older brother of 13 AAA prospects who are awaiting their call to the majors this year. I hope you do not make the same mistake in future posts.

  5. Conveniently leaving out that HR Scheppers gave up, are we?

    (Surely, I jest).

  6. Nothing on the un-Game of the Day? Cubs at Twins with a score of 1, 3 points worse than the next worse game.

Also, Rangers offense (10) against Barry Zito (0) has to be the best (or worst) contrast matchup of the day.

  7. also, just fyi, “ste.” is the abbreviation for “suite” (not sweet).

  8. Why the comment about Morse’s lat injury (maybe it was)? Do you know something that no one else knows?

  9. Going to see the Nats play the Sox at Fenway tonight, should have a good view of the strike zone too. I’m so excited to see Strasburg pitch first hand.

  10. Wouldn’t a player making his MLB debut more properly be said to have been called — not “recalled” — to the major leagues? Perhaps this is a term of art.

As proud of they are of each other, neither John Danks nor Jordan Danks will publicly acknowledge the third brother, Jar-Jar.

  11. While I refuse to stand corrected, I will sit or — better — lie supine corrected all day with regard to this, or any other, matter.

  12. Just curious, but if Wandy Rodriquez, Gavin Floyd, the Astros and the White Sox all have a NERD of 5, how does the game have a NERD of 4?

Doesn’t matter to me, I will be forced to watch this game in that I am attending it.
