  1. Why are we looking only at Myers’ FIP? His SIERA and xFIP are much better.

  2. He’ll fit right in with the White Sox, and he has the added value of making A.J. Pierzynski look like a better guy.

  3. AJ is just an asshole, Brett Myers deserves time in prison for what he did.

  4. A.J. to the best of my knowledge, like noted above, is an asshole but has done nothing illegal. Brett Myers has done something illegal, and harmed someone in doing it.

  5. And yet another case of “you think you know more than you do.” When you or any of the people you claim as experts actually get something right for once, then you might have credibility. Until then, stick with the facts and leave analysis and opinions to real experts.

  6. Andrew Bailey or Wilton Lopez to get more save opportunities this year?

  7. Myers also won’t close because of his option for next year that is dependent on games finished.

Also, honestly, it’s really annoying and weak to use terms like “as they might have thought” in an article like this. An article about a minor move doesn’t have to be anything big. I’m pretty sure the White Sox know they aren’t getting much. I’m pretty sure the Astros know they aren’t getting much. No one actually thinks this is particularly significant, so you don’t need to make your article seem more interesting than it actually is by pretending you’re coming up with some big analysis. It would have been a fine article regardless.

  8. My apologies, I didn’t see that you did note the vesting option.

  9. What makes the Fangraphs staff any less qualified than other analysts?
