  1. A tough but fair profile of the Phillies #1 pick last year.

  2. A sad read for a Phillies fan.

  3. I’ve watched numerous Crosscutter games this year. Larry Greene has NEVER jumped out to me as a bigtime prospect. If you didn’t know it was him, you would think Organizational Filler.

  4. Greene reportedly showed up a little out of shape. I think he has a good enough arm and is fast enough to eventually stick in LF where his Bat doesn’t have to be 1st base elite.

  6. Woops, thanks for reminding me. The former Scouting The Sally is no more. The archives and 150 or so scouting reports I’ve done previously will show up somewhere…not sure where…in the near future.

  7. Deeply worrisome report. This is a young man from Georgia whose mother died from complications related to diabetes who’s looking pretty pudgy at 19. Furthermore he was a good enough linebacker to be recruited in the SEC, so his activity level has to be somewhat reduced and he better start laying off the fried food. I’ve been wondering whether or not the Phillies went on some kind of dietary red alert when they signed him, because if not, somebody really should be slapped. All that said, I’ll add some props for showing some decent plate discipline, even if the power’s not there.

  9. Mike – did I miss your writeup on Domingo Tapia? I recall you saying you were going to see him, and, if I’ve remembered correctly, I’d appreciate your thoughts on him.

  10. 19? He is a large boy. That is a future firstbaseman if I’ve ever seen one.

  11. No, I haven’t had a chance to edit the video. I normally edit a batch of videos and then write afterward.
