  1. One full win and one-fiftieth of another, right?

  2. Aceves’ performance was worth -1.021 wins. He pitched so poorly that he cost his team one full win and one-fifth of another.

That is incorrect. That would be -1.2 wins. He cost his team one win and one-fiftieth of another.

  3. This is funny because I was actually wondering this last night – if this would give a WPA less than -1.

Also:-1.021 is one win and one 50th of another…. not one 5th

  7. In case you didn’t see the first 3 comments, 1.02 is “1 full win and 1 fiftieth of another”.

  10. It’s one fiftieth, gawd!

    Comment by Colin — August 24, 2012 @ 2:59 pm

  11. Maybe. But it’s only one fiftieth as shocking as the Orioles still lucking there way to a decent record. Or is it one fifth as shocking?

    I can never tell.

  12. Kind of sad to see Bob Feller’s name on that Baseball-Reference list.

I think they should use a pseudonym, or just insert Vicente Padilla’s name.

  13. Just a quick question… how is it possible to have lost more than one game based on the performance in one game? Like shouldn’t the max be 1 and the min be -1?

  14. For the team it is, yes. Not for individual players.
