“I’m not expecting this series to go past 3, I’m sorry to say. The Cards had a great run, but they’re going to have to be almost perfect to win a game against Hamels and Lee.” Seriously? That seems… unintelligent. Lee and Hamels are “aces”, yes, but Garcia and Carpenter are front line starters. For your comment to be defensible, you’d have to show that the chances of Philly winning the next two games is better than 50%. Yes, the Phillies’ starters are the best in the league, but the Cardinals’s offense is the best in the league. On the other side of the coin, the Cardinals’ starters are merely very good, but that’s also how I would classify the Phillies’ offense. The next two games should be an even matchup, assuming Carpenter is good to go.

Assuming you include Halladay in your group of unbeatable starters, you may as well just hand over the rings now. If the best offense in the league can’t get to them, no team can.
