When will baseball finally get helmets with face protectors on all pitchers and hitters? Cricket style or some new innovation, not just padding on or in a regular ball cap. From the majors down to kids, it is overdue. The shot J.A. Happ took looked horrible and I hope for his well being and ability to survive this, much less ever return to baseball again. Also, Tampa scored 2 runs and Jennings turned it into a triple, really? Go to first and have the runners advance one base and then stay put.

There will have to be a culture shift, people will make fun of them for wearing them and pitchers won’t want to wear them. Sort of like hitting in the NFL…..

I mentioned something like this months ago, but if something like this invisible bike helmet could be modified to deploy when a ball whizzes by a pitcher’s head it would be great.

Mike Trout is a linebacker. He came in to camp at nearly 240, and could still run.
