FanGraphs Audio: Dayn Perry Ends Comedy

Episode 329
Dayn Perry is a contributor to CBS Sports’ Eye on Baseball and the author of three books, now — one of them serviceable and one of them, against all odds, something more than serviceable. He’s also the guest on this edition of FanGraphs Audio.

As always, enjoyably disappointing.

Or is that disappointingly enjoyable?

Useful quote, decontextualized: “I quite enjoy the billowy stuff.”

I went to the doctor to follow up on my physical and my blood test revealed I had a low white blood cell count. I told the doctor I had a toe infection but she said it wasn’t related and asked me to run up and down the stairs and do the blood test again to find out from WebMD that I probably had a toe infection. I figure having sick kids doesn’t help either.

Go for WebMD if fangraphs can’t find a doctor that takes PayPal.

I totally had The Fox and The Hound Disney read-along. I wore that shit out. “You can read along…in your book!”

I had The Black Hole, Johnny Appleseed, The Hobbit, Babes in Toyland, Brer Rabbit, etc.

“I am fucking you with my Bad Neighborhood.”

Love the book Dayn, thanks! I did a public reading the moment it arrived.

Seconded. That is a great poem. Take that Robert Herrick! (Who does bear a suspicious resemblence to Dayn Perry, if we’re being honest).
