FanGraphs Audio: The Inconvenience of Being Dayn Perry

Episode 467
Dayn Perry is a contributor to CBS Sports’ Eye on Baseball and the author of three books — one of them not very miserable. He’s also the guest on this edition of FanGraphs Audio — which episode has been characterized by certain parties as “an orgy of remorse and disgust.”

Surely has nothing on The Inconvenience of Finding Any Way at All to Allow NotGraphs to Continue Under the Leadership of Others.

Hilarious. Loved the podcast. I am a latecomer to FanGraphs audio and FanGraphs in general. From this podcast, it appears that the demise of NotGraphs is imminent. Is that so? If yes, when and why?

    • It is so. The why is that (a) Carson is no longer interested in running NotGraphs; (b) he either could not find, or did not even search for, a suitable successor (several people, such as myself, have volunteered our services); (c) FanGraphs decided it could replace NotGraphs with mysterious new projects.

The when is at the end of the 2014 World Series.

I’m befuddled on why the powers that be at fg, feel there is a finite amount of space to be utilized at the site. I would hope that the same powers that be, understand that maintaining high caliber subsites is not a zero sum game. NG and secret new fg projects peacefully can co-exist.

As far as the editing/managing time goes, COME ON Carson! There is a stable of talent you can draw upon to be the new gm of NG. Hell, just comb through the comment sections of ng, and pick a guest editor every month.

Please, don’t let NG die. You realize that it was a secret and new fg project at one time, not that long ago.

Don’t let notgraphs become the Canadian Arrow of Fangraphs.
