Re: Minor v. Skaggs, Minor has over 300 ML innings, Skaggs has 29. Minor is not a prospect anymore, he’s a young, league-averagish starting pitcher if you project a decent amount of improvement this year or weigh the second half of 2012 heavier.
Pretty sure *no one* would agree w/ Dave that Minor *was* a better prospect than Skaggs *is*. Perhaps I read the question/answer wrong, but I believe many (if not all) prospectors believe that Skaggs is a much better prospect than Minor ever was or currently is.
I don’t know a single fellow Phillies fan that ever even believed, let alone preached, that Vance Worley was an underrated pitched. In fact, a large majority knew he was overrated and would eventually be exposed given that he doesn’t throw hard, or have any great off speed pitch. Can’t wait for that article 9 months from now when Worley is 6-11 with a 4.47 ERA and 1.31 WHIP, and Revere is hitting nearly .300, on pace for close to 90-100 runs and 50+ SB.
