“steroids weren’t against the rules”…..aren’t steroids against the law?
“hustling is overrated” WHAT!!!! If you don’t hustle out a grounder on the Rays you get benched.
I understand there are conflicts of interest. But writers couldn’t out players for doing steroids back when. If they did they got in trouble with the team and probably their boss. PLUS, “steroids weren’t against the rules”.
Steroids were NOT against the rules, Chicago Mark. That’s why I always politely admitted that I used them, whenever I was asked.
As everyone knows, on June 7, 1991, the Commissioner of baseball, Fay Vincent, sent every team a memo expressly stating that:
“The possession, sale or use of any illegal drug or controlled substance by Major League players or personnel is strictly prohibited … This prohibition applies to all illegal drugs … including steroids.”
See, it was plainly prohibited. “Prohibited” means it was okay for me to go ahead and do it, right?
Dave, Are there any “star players” that you see regressing much in 2013? Josh Hamilton & CC Sabathia come to mind for me. Thanks.
