I think the question is his fielding. He'll probably post a solid 800 OPS in the majors with a lot of power and maybe not so much OBP (say, .250/.330/.470) - that's good for a league average defensive 3B, but not for a Ty Wigginton type player.

Did Luis Lebron or Pedro Florimon get any consideration for "The Riser" spot?

Zach Britton could have been included as the riser as well, since he gets a ton of groundballs and upped his strike-out rate this year. I'll likely have him as my #1 O's prospect (not counting Matusz) once I do my prospects list.

The Os system may have been slightly underrated, but not incredibly so. Reimold and Bergeson were definitely underrated, but the rest were being mentioned around. Most of the O's homegrown players are looked upon as solid major leagues with Arrieta the only one supposed to be a star

The Os have done very well with their trades. All the players they got from Seattle are producing, while they got quantity from Houston
Even this year's trade of Sherrill produced two good prospects including Josh Bell.
When you're getting one-sided hauls like that there's going to be more noise surrounding the prospects

I wonder if that is an indication that the O's system was perhaps underrated in prior years? Reimold, Bergeson, Snyder, Erbe, Arrieta, are not new names, but going into 2008 all you heard about was Wieters and the stuff they got for Bedard and Tejada.

Mmmmm... Matt Wieters. Perhaps most enouraging for us Oriole fans is that "The Graduate" could have just as easily been Nolan Reimold, Brad Bergesen or Chris Tillman.

What kind of major league upside does Waring have? Seems like his name has been around a lot but he's never been on any top prospects lists or anything.
