You know, after seeing and loathing most of Dayton Moore's FA pickups, it is nice to know that he can spot talent at the lower levels.

Dayton Moore's particular brand of illogic would not cause him to plant Parraz in RF for Opening Day. It would lead him to trade Parraz and Giatovella for, say, Garry Matthews Jr. or Garret Anderson or some such foolishness.

I would much prefer to see Parraz called up too soon than watch JoGui stumble around in RF for 2 1/2 months until his calf tightens up on him and the the FO makes excuses about him not getting a fair chance due to the injuries, claim that he was good in '08, or some other crap to justify giving him 2/20 next offseason.

I wouldn't recommend putting him in the majors right away. The Royals can't expect to be competitive next season, so why risk bringing Parraz up too soon?

That being said, Dayton Moore logic is the antithesis of common baseball sense, so expect to see this guy starting at right field on the first day of spring training.

Parraz has become an intriguing prospect. But promoting him before he has a chance to prove himself through at least 200-300 AAA ab's would be a bad move.

If the Royals have any sense at all - and yeah, they really don't seem to - they will just put Jordan Parraz in right field right away next year and let Jose Guillen be the DH, since they're stuck with him another year. Guillen likes to play the field, but it's so clear that he simply too gimpy to do it any more.
