Click on the link provided and you can see Votto is a rookie. You lose eligibility as a hitter after 130 at-bats…. which he did not have to begin the 2008 seasons. The only reason he didn’t get a mention is because I could only choose one player to talk about and Cueto won out because I found his season a little more interesting when it was broken down. Votto should finish second in the Rookie of the Year voting to Soto.

Did you even read my comment? Did you think my question would be answered the second time around with the same answer? Please. Soto had 54 Ab’s last season, Votto 84. According to your logic, Soto shouldn’t be considered a graduate either, but he was, and so should Votto. This isn’t even about the article, it’s just you being annoying.

No, Votto was a rookie this year. I know he had a cup of tea at the end of last year, but so did Geovany Soto, and he was the graduate for the Cubs. This isn’t a big deal, I just wondered why he didn’t warrant a mention.

Cueto did well in his rookie year, but how is there no mention of Joey Votto? Votto should be the graduate. All that aside, nice piece.
