Ditto on the Kepp-Gun. He was on his way to really nice season in '08 here in Cincy when he got hurt. I'm surprised he wasn't trawled up by Boston or the Dodgers at the deadline, he'd make a dangerous bench player for a contender.
I hope he nails down a starting job someday and gets a few good paydays. H reminds me of ... say... 60% of Paul Molitor.

I saw Fransisco's first HR. It looked like he was playing a video game. I expected the ball to explode into confetti when it landed. If he can stick at 3b, I wouldn't mind seeing him replace Rolen in 2011.

That's funny you'd say that about Keppinger, because that's the EXACT impression I've had of him from watching him play all season. Another example: He takes lots of pitches, especially when he's in front of a speedy guy on base, like Michael Bourn--he'll sacrifice a couple of called strikes to give a guy a shot at stealing.

Even when there's nobody on base, he takes his at bats the right way. He has good plate discipline, and as you can see by his low strikeouts, he is also good at making contact. You might not think of him as a difficult out, but he rarely makes an easy one; he tends to make pitchers put in their due diligence one way or another.

He's not the kind of guy who has amazing natural talent for the game (relatively speaking), but he plays the game well nonetheless.

That article you linked was really good. Learn from that guy.

Second half was pretty good. First half was more of the "look at me I write cute!" crap that polluted the previous articles of yours that I was able to get through.

I did not remember him during the season, but I will now follow Jaff Decker religiously. Led the Midwest league in OPS by 40pts, demonstrating patience, batting average and power. That's something impressive for a kid born in 1990 (!).

I just wonder if 5'10" 190 reflects his baby fat or his Paul McAnulty fat.

I wonder what fangraphs might be able to get for Cistulli this offseason? I think it's a Milton Bradley situation; time to eat the contract.
