I would imagine the other PAs go to Reed Johnson and Joey Gathright who will play CF when Fukudome starts in RF--Piniella said he expects to start him there some of the time, I assume to rest Bradley.

That being said, I would guess that Bradley/Johnson/Gathright over 700 PAs, with Bradley getting 400 of them, is more productive than DeRosa over 700 PAs.

And Mike, I would assume that if the Cubs are smart enough to sell high on DeRosa, they are smart enough to start Fontenot over Miles at 2B. And the deal made a ton of sense, seeing as how they will get the same production out of Fontenot as they would have gotten from DeRosa, and they save $5M that they needed to spend on Bradley.

Excellent piece! You are right on the money with DeRosa. That deal makes no sense when he's replaced with a bum like Miles. Hopefully Fontenot gets the nod even though I'd like to see what Cedeno can do finally.
