Well.....now with the Hill trade to Baltimore, he will be in a tough division but probably in a pretty low pressure environment considering Baltimore's past pitching performances. I don't think there are many better places he could have been shipped in terms of playing time possibilities, so hopefully he will be able to break out of the funk and not go the way of the Blass.

The Cubs can have Matt Murton back for Rich Hill. Matt Murton is Bobby Kielty Part Deux. Hill is the perfect reclamation project for Oakland... if he sucks, the A's can DFA him; if he can find his control, beuno.

Hill had a lot of control problems in 2000/2001 at Michigan as well as low in the low minor leagues. But his control took a big step up in 2005 (AA/AAA) and remained pretty decent until 2008, when it completely fell apart.

He went from walking everyone, to showcasing decent-to-good control, back to walking everyone.

We often heard about a "back injury" last year, but that seemed like a poor excuse as opposed to a legit problem. Hill's confidence seems shot, and given the circumstances, it's easy to see why.

If Hill has any shot, he needs to get out of Chicago, and the writing may be on the wall.

From a Chicago Tribune article last week:

Hendry was blunt about Hill's status, saying: "He had a shot, and he lost it."

When a fan asked what happened to Hill, Kenney interjected: "If Jim can answer that one, I have a couple of stock questions for him."
