Yeah, us Giants fans apparently hate Durham's defense. His 2008 Fans' Scouting Report result was a 33 position specific, 34 position neutral. I think that's why CHONE's projection (-11 at 2B) looks so bad for him.

As a Giants fan, there is no way Ray is even close to average at 2B. His range is about 2 inches both ways. His hands have improved, but he just covers no ground. He can only play one position so it really limits his value as a bench player; and his injury history + lack of defense really force him into a back-up roll. In this economy, a minor league deal or the 1 year 800K that he scoffed at in a recent espn article seem fair.

Philly seems to me to be a perfect fit. He would start half the year at 2B while Utley is out. And he might be able to play third and platoon with Feliz, which if he is able to, would seem to be a bit of an upgrade.
