Carson Cistulli says terrible things at The New Enthusiast.

Does Rob Neyer really bird watch? That would be disappointing.
Ron Luciano used to bird watch.
If I remember right in his first interview with FA Neyer goes on about bird watching for a while. Turns out he’s pretty into it.
he’s a cardinal or blue jays fan, maybe even orioles?
nice .
Why is that disappointing. Bird watching is highly enjoyable and exciting. Too bad you are too cool for it.
Rob is busy waiting for the SF Giants immediate demise. 2010 was pure luck. Won’t happen again.
Giants fans are in desperate need of some perspective. Why would Rob (or anyone else other than Dodger fans, for that matter) specifically dislike the Giants? People just don’t care enough about the Giants (or 95% of the rest of MLB) to be biased against them. Claims of bias reveal more about the claimant than the target of the complaint.
Ok, so I should have said “Some giants fans.” Don’t mean to lump them all in here. I just don’t understand why (judging by the traffic at Neyer’s former employer’s site, at least) so many Giants fans think Rob hates their team. It seems more likely that either he evaluated them objectively but incorrectly or that a lot of things broke right for them in the playoffs.
Exactly, Eric. Everything broke right for them and their actually quite the average team.
Oops, spelling fail, Obviously “they’re” and not “their”.
wow, that was surprisingly boring
It’s Rob Neyer. What did you expect? Something interesting? Don’t make me laugh.
I was dissapointed as well. For me it was both the host and Rob Neyer’s speaking styles. They stop and start mid-sentence, for pretty much every sentence they udder. They could be making the interesting point in the world, but it’s lost because it comes out in drabs.
Don’t have a cow, man.
So sorry you guys didn’t like it. Fangraphs should give you all your money back.
God he is awkward – but then, Carson can sound a bit maladroit on these things as well…I guess you don’t have to be a great podcaster to be an entertaining writer.
Oh, I don’t know, when they get going they say some pretty great things. It was pretty hillariously bad that Neyer forgot twice that he was on last year (http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/fangraphs-audio-rob-neyer-status-update/).
I’m pretty sure Neyer was kidding.
This was terrible, and I don’t think it was the guest…
Equally bad. Carson is a know-it-all yappity yack who has yet to fornicate with a woman.
Keepin’ it real.
Yep. I’ve never heard such random, long winded, directionless questions during an interview.
You could almost hear Neyer think “Uhm, was that a question, a comment, or verbal diarrhea?”
As long as they don’t grovel before the greatness of Michael Lewis and profusely mention how he’s the greatest living Non-Fiction author mid podcast it can’t be that bad.
Nothing is quite as interesting as listening to people recount their favourite bits from sitcoms. Only hearing stories about someone’s cat is better. Does Neyer not have a cat to talk about?
