Final Request For Vote
I promise, you won’t hear about this again.
I’ve been nominated for a $10,000 scholarship thanks to the writing I’ve done over at USSMariner.com, which is strangely decided by popular vote. I’m in second place, about 700 votes behind the leader, who has leaned heavily on Daily Kos for his votes. The fact that I’m still without shouting distance after their full court press for him is pretty remarkable.
Anyway, voting closes tonight at 3 AM EST, so if you’re so inclined to vote for me, you can do so now. I probably need 3,000 to 4,000 votes today to overtake the current leader, so every vote counts.
Thanks for your support.
As a co-founder of USSMariner.com, I've enjoyed writing about well run teams for a change.
I think voting already ended.
It’s supposed to be open until midnight PST tonight. If you only see the vote totals, that means there’s already been a vote from your IP address - you can only vote once.
I tried sending the link on various forums for people to vote for you, but no one could cast it. I read further on the scholarship blog and it said that voting ended on the 17th.
Hmm - if it ends up close enough, I’ll talk to the people running the contest and let them know about the problems voting. It was initially set to close on the 17th, but it started later than they expected, so they moved the close to the 20th.
I promise, voting is still open.
I just placed a vote by clicking on the “do so now” link Dave provided. I was able to select Dave and submit my vote. Then the vote totals screen appeared.
Good luck Dave!
Just posted a thread over at an online Risk-type site that I’m a member of. Check it out.

I’m sure quite a few of them will help with the cause, Dave. Good luck.
Down 708 votes as I type this, you’d have to make up over a vote a minute on David Mauro to pull this one out, and I can’t see that happening at all.
P.S. I voted for David Mauro.
Hey, guy above me:
You spelled your name wrong.
Dick? Jerk? I can’t tell which one you’re going for. You’d be right either way.
