HuffPost’s Sports Game Changers
The Huffington Post today released their list of top 10 “Game Changers” in the world of sports “who are harnessing the power of new media to reshape their fields and change the world.”
I was honored to be part of the list and it’s really a testament to our incredible writing staff and of course all our visitors who have helped spread the word and have taken the time to help educate people about the usefulness of stats based analysis.
In the meantime, if you have a free minute head over to the Huffington Post and give your vote!

David Appelman is the creator of FanGraphs.

Well deserved accolades. This site changed the way I view baseball.
Congrats. You have one of the best baseball sites out there.
Congrats David on upkeeping this most amazing of baseball sites. It single-handedly began my descent to sabermetric madness and has wasted countless of my hours all on it’s own. Kudos sir, kudos.
Awesome! Congratulations and all that. You guys absolutely rule.
Congrats
Well deserved…
Congrats. You guys get a 10. I’m always linking to this site.
I would say congrats… but after looking at the rest of your company in the top 10, I am not sure that you really want to be connected with them! :)
No way, I don’t care who else is on the list any list with Shaq is a list I would be happy to be on.
Bowman’s a good choice. MLB.tv is pretty sweet.
A well-deserved honor, even if it comes from the HuffPo, a site I prefer to avoid.
Well deserved recognition, guys – Congrats! You definitely get a 10 from me. I don’t know what I would do without FanGraphs.
This site has become one of my perfunctory destinations on the net because of the keen and thoughtful analysis that is available on a daily basis. Thanks for creating/hosting the site, and congratulations on the recognition.
Awesome site great job.
10. Bob Bowman got a 10 as well. Just promise us that Nate Silver is the only baseball analysis guru that we’re going to lose to the political landscape Huff Post represents
Nate Silver’s work at 538 is staggeringly glorious. His BP work was excellent, but his current gig is a higher calling.
Huffington Post–while generally entertaining–is a political rag. Silver is a giant step up from that level of political thought and analysis.
I have my Bill James books from 1985-86. This site is a must. I love that you can not just say ‘that guy can not go to his left anymore’, this site will have that stat.
“Baseball online stats king”
Badass.
Sorry, can’t help you. Would sooner poke an eye out than visit HuffPo.
Gave you a 10 out of 10. If we were ranking it would be tough between FanGraphs and MLB.tv. Both are amazing inventions and very useful to my life. :)
