whether or not the new pads gm will be equipped to spend or not is key. San Diego is I think the 9th largest city in the US, the Dodgers have the 9th or 10th highest payroll at about 100 mil, vs the firesale pads who had the 2nd lowest. MLB ought to fine that cheap current owner or make hin give back his revenue sharing slice.

Imagine if Hoyer is confirmed as the new GM and Towers decides to take up something similar to hoyer’s old role with the red sox. Then both teams decide to revisit the Gonzalez talks except with two main guys now in exact opposite positions.
