And  should we consider also the position of jeroloman and Arencibia too, as possible &quot;surprises&quot; at 1b, if they can both enter the big leagues with them good numbers(OBP for Jero, and SLG for JP), unless they can grab the backup C job in middle 09 with a poor outings by Thigpen.
I know Arencibia will be a better DH than 1B but it&#039;s growing very fast, and with good defense upside...

		<description>I would bet cameo in Sept 2009, and maybe a shot at meaningful PT in 2010.  Assuming he continues a swift rise through the system of course, never a guarantee.  Travis Snider could factor in also, if he stays at OF or DH and they don&#039;t try him as a 1B.  They are apparantly willing to give away Overbay but his salary makes him a tough move.</description>
